Something I Have Been Having Trouble With....

Something that I have been struggling with lately is to hold my tongue and keep the anger I have inside. Sometimes things just get on my nerves and I get so irritated. I have to remember to keep my cool and ask for God to give me the strength to hold my tongue and keep a positive attitude.

Tumblr_m5o0q90jtb1rqfn0so1_500_largeNormally the things I say and the talking back is focused at my Mom. I love her and I appreciate her, but sometimes I just get annoyed and talk back or have a wrong tone of voice.

Proverbs 29:20, 22
There is more hope for a fool
    than for someone who speaks without thinking.
An angry person starts fights;
    a hot-tempered person commits all kinds of sin.

This verse really spoke to me and made me realize that when I speak out in anger I am being foolish and sinning. How easy it is to be angry and just spout out harsh words- I have to say it never felt good to say the wrong things I do. I always regret saying them once I did. It takes a wise person to hold their tongue and say kind things in return. And I have to say it will leave you feeling better about yourself as well and you truly will be in a better mood!

So, the next time you catch yourself ready to get angry and say some harsh things in anger- think of the results and hold your tongue. Ask God to give you the right attitude and keep a good mindset!

Thanks for reading!! :)
Also, I just created another poll- feel free to vote on it! :)

Until tomorrow....

  4. Britt I love how your blog is always so down to earth. And never do you ever make it sound as if you're better than anyone else. You are willing to point out your own problems and how you deal with them and encourage others through that testimony. I just wanted to let you know you are so awesome. And I love your blog...adn how it is totally always your blog title! "Encouragement for everyday struggles" Love you girl!

  6. Hi Britt,
    I enjoy how you keep it real. And as a Mom who is frequently accused (rightfully so) of nagging, please know that it is done with love.
    You are an encouragement to me. Thank you.
