The Real Me

Sometimes I feel broken inside. I feel like I hide my emotions. Usually it is easier to hold everything in than letting it all out. Sometimes I feel like my life is invisible- like nothing I do or say even matters. Sometimes I wonder if anyone truly sees me for who I am. From my past experiences it has been hard to trust others and know that they'd be there for me. Facing rejection in my past has hindered me to open up with others and show the "real me." some lyrics to Natalie Grant's song seemed to fit well in the post....

Same old game of plastic smile
Don't let anybody in
Hiding my heartache, will this glass house break
How much will they take before I'm empty
Do I let it show, does anybody know?

But you see the real me
Hiding in my skin, broken from within
Unveil me completely
I'm loosening my grasp
There's no need to mask my frailty
Cause you see the real me

It's so nice to know that when it seems like nobody may understand your circumstances or the way you are feeling, God does. He sees every heartache. He knows how much it hurts. He knew you since the beginning of time and He will never stop loving you or will never forsake you. You may feel broken and invisible, but God sees you better than anyone and is using the pain you feel for something great. You may feel unloved or invisible, but God sees your potential. He values your existence and always sees you for who you really are. No stereotypes or false labels. God sees the real you!

Let God take control of your life. You don't have to hide who you really are. If the God of the universe loves you for who you are, others should too! Sometimes it's hard letting God take control of your circumstances. It feels like we are exposing ourselves and losing the control, but when things are in God's hands they are always better off.

You don't have to hide who you are. Others may not understand what you are going through, but God always is there to understand and listen. Others may not accept you when you show your true self, but this world isn't our permanent home. When you feel like you don't belong, know that the pain won't last forever. You weren't made to live in this temporary world forever, but you were made for an extraordinary eternal home. A place where you are accepted and loved by a God who created you just as He wanted you to be!

Rely on Him with your life and seek Him with the burdens you may be carrying. They are never too big for Him to carry. You don't have to hold everything in from Him- He understands and is there to help you. We may feel weak, but through our weaknesses we can see God's strength even more!

2 Corinthians 4:17
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.

I Samuel 16:7
The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

  1. Your posts are always so encouraging. You always start out with something that nearly everyone can relate to, as I could relate to this today: "Sometimes I feel like my life is invisible- like nothing I do or say even matters."
But I love how you don't stop there, you bring encouragement and hope.
Sometimes when I feel like nobody understands me or cares about me, it is the time that I can sense God's love and comfort in my life <3
Thank you for all of the encouraging words!
