Always Invisible

Once there was a girl who had two sides. Most people knew her name, but nobody really realized her existence. Even when she was present she was many times forgotten. Everyone passed her by and ignored her like she was invisible. She smiled and cared for others and appeared happy and unaffected by the world, but inside it hurt. Inside she felt insecure. Inside she was breaking apart. On the outside she was smiling and encouraging  to others, but inside she felt alone and broken. Inside she wanted someone to show the same love in return.

She had friends but she still felt alone. Because the friends she had teased her and tried to change who she was. The friends she had often forgot about her. She felt replaced. She wondered if their friendship was sincere or if they just only loved her when they needed her. She forced a smile and tried to laugh things off, but it was hard to hold it all under a happy exterior. She was blamed for others mistakes and constantly felt like she was unheard. Nobody seemed to actually listen to how she felt. She listened to others, but nobody ever seemed to care about her feelings. Others questioned her quietness but nobody ever seemed to care to ever listen if she did begin to talk. She was made fun of for her ideas and thoughts that she did stoop to share, so she decided that remaining quiet was the best idea. Her accomplishments and feelings sometimes were hidden behind all the struggles at home and others lives who seemed more important. She became accustomed to being invisible, but it still hurt.

Others would question her life and wonder why she wouldn't open up. If they only knew that she didn't feel like anyone cared to listen. Nobody seemed to care when she did open up. She didn't feel qualified enough to be listened to by others. She felt like she was a waste of time to share how she felt. Nobody seemed to accept her for who she was. The friends she had didn't show her love- they picked on her and only seemed to notice her flaws; like she didn't know them already. With a self-esteem lowered even more she retreated and hid away.

If only people knew that circumstances in her life made her who she is. The people, hardships and circumstances were inside her and hidden beneath. She was quiet and reserved because she was hurt. She hid her insecurity inside and was afraid of letting the world see her true inner self. Nobody realizes the hurt and pain a few words can make. Nobody knows how a few circumstances impact someone for life. They tried to change and fix her but all she wanted was someone to just show her a little of sincere love.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Are you someone who feels like they are often overlooked or uncared for? Maybe you're the boy at school who is made fun of for not being tough enough. Maybe you are the girl who feels ugly and afraid to show who you really are? Maybe you are the person whose feelings go unnoticed at work and everyone else walks all over you. Maybe you are the one who feels like nobody cares about your existence- you feel like a bother to others.
Sometimes our lives can often feel hard to endure. We feel like we question our existence and feel alone in the lives we live. But each of us have purpose. Often God used those who were most insecure and felt like their lives were unqualified and used their lives in great ways. God can use you where you are now to do great things for Him. You may feel like your life is invisible, but your life is impacting others. We can't control how others treat us, but we can control how we treat others. We are not defined by how others treat us- that is what defines them.
When you feel invisible and like the whole world has forgotten you- remember- God knows your every thought. He sees! He loves you.
Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy.
  4. I'm repeating what everyone else said but I truly mean it. Thank you for writing this! I don't struggle with being that quiet person but I have a close friend who does. This helps me realize how important it is for me to take time for her and not overlook her just cause she is quiet. This helps me to understand her better. Thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart!
