Comparing Our Abilities

Sometimes I question my abilities and talents. I wonder if I'm good enough. I wonder if I'll ever be successful. It seems like someone always has something negative to say, point out or make notice of. It seems like there is always someone better out there who seems to have it so much easier.

It is so true that we need 6 positive comments to make us feel better from one negative remark. Sometimes I feel like I need more positives than that to remove the negative one! Some days are filled with so much downgrading I find it hard to even function. I get caught up in others thoughts of me and what they think of my work or personality.

Often I find myself feeling like my talents and career defines me and if I don't do a good job in that then I am a total failure. Just because you may not be the best at a certain career does not mean you are failing. If you are using your talent for God and doing the best you can with what you have that is all that matters. God is not going to say "you should have been like that person and succeeded farther than them." He isn't focused on your life in comparison with others, but sees your life individually, your hard work and how well you are using the talents and abilities He has given you.

Satan puts doubts into our heads to make us feel unworthy and useless. Don't let Satan's deceitfulness get a hold of you. Take those positive comments and make them stand out over the negative ones. Use the negative remarks and learn from them, even if they were meant for evil.

Genesis 50:20
You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

I Peter 4:10
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.
