Living or Existing?

Have you ever felt as though the life you are living isn't impacting anyone and you are just existing and not actually "living?" Lately I have felt like I am just existing on this earth and not impacting others with my life. I want to be out doing things that will matter for Christ rather than just doing the same daily routine- getting up every morning, doing homework, cleaning, writing blog posts, doing games on the internet, making dinner, talking, and going to bed. But sometimes we realize that we want to make a difference and want to stop "existing" but we don't know what to do or how to do it.

Well, that is where God comes in- He can show us and lead us to where He would like to use us and allow us to live for Him. And one way we can allow God to show us where to be used is by praying and asking Him to show us what to do. Prayer is something so important that we often fail to realize just how impacting it can be on our lives and change us so much.

But then there are also times where we want to be used by God and want to be out doing things for Him, but He is telling us that it isn't time yet and we have to wait and keep trusting in Him.

81357917_largeSomething my sister told me so many times that has really influenced me is that when we feel the most alone, the most unused by God- that may be because He wants us to go to Him and rely on Him more than if we were surrounded by those who love us and everything is going as it should. When we don't have friends or family around us to help us through the things on our mind or can help us with the thoughts we face- we know that God is the one to turn to and He will never leave our side to face the burdens alone.

And please- don't think that you are not being used by God- so many of us impact others for Christ and we don't even know it. We often fail to realize just how much we impact others by the words, actions and deeds we say and do.

I truly feel that as long as we have the desire and will to be serving God and have tried our best to be out helping others and spreading God's Word the best way we know how- that is all that counts. It doesn't matter how much is visible that you impact others for Christ- it is the heart desire within you that matters to God and that is what God sees more than the actions and deeds you do for Him (at least that is what I like to think.)

Sorry that this post was so long, but these were just some thoughts on my mind. I hope that you could maybe take something out of it today! : ) Have a great Friday- it is finally the end of the work/school week!!! Enjoy your weekend!

  1. Yes, often I forget how much I can serve God in the "mundane" things because I want to serve Him in a really big way(s).

Encouraging! God has us right where He wants us at any given time!

  2. Great post...I feel like a lot of times that I'm just floating around, purposeless. But this has helped me see that I might be used by God in ways I don't understand at the moment, or that I may have a bigger purpose ahead. Thanks! :)

  5. God knows the desires of our hearts. I know how you feel, I was feeling this a little while ago, and still sort of do, the thing is, we can impact people all around us. Even if it's just helping your mom with a chore, or talking to your grandma, God can use you in that. God has a plan for you each and every day. I feel that when you go to college, even though it's not something you're really looking forward to, it is going to give you so many chances to speak God's truth into people's lives.
Thank you so much for all of your encouraging posts, Britt. :)

  9. you are correct, there was a time in my life where I felt that my walk with God was stagnant and God showed me that I had to fully depend on Him, instead of myself. I love that verse that says trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding (proverbs 3:5-6) and when I really, truly gave everything up to the Lord, THAT is when things started happening and an impact was being made.
keep up the good work girl, you are awesoem!
    have a great day!
