Finding the Strength to Continue On

Have you ever felt like you don't know what to face for the future and you are afraid of what it may bring? Do you regret an event or upcoming week, just knowing what it may bring with it? Are you afraid to carry on and face those struggles that lie ahead? Do you feel like giving up and saying "I want to quit and not have to worry about any of it"? Do you ever think "I don't care if I am strong- I just want these hard times to leave and for me to feel relief again"?

Believe me, if you have thought these before- you are not alone. I too have felt this way before. It is hard continuing on when it only seems like pain ahead. It is so easy to give up and turn back around and take the easy route- and most times it is so very tempting. Don't let Satan win the battle. Stand up, be strong, face your struggles, knowing God is with you and He will give you the strength and continue on and face those hard trials. Know that there is a purpose for what you are going through and after you are finished, you can look back down at all you went through and say "I did this and I did it with God's help!!!" It is so satisfying being able to look back at our accomplishments and see that we didn't give up or let Satan's tempting allow us loose the battle. Don't be afraid or be annoyed that we have to go through all these hard trials, know that they are allowing us to grow closer to God, help impact others while we are going through them and there is a reason for each and every struggle we are facing right now. With God's help we can go through any struggle- big or small- and accomplish the task that we are dreading or are afraid of facing.

We walk without fear, full of hope and courage
and strength to do His will, waiting for the endless good
which He is always giving as fast as He can
get us able to take it in.

George MacDonald
My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation
comes from Him. Truly He is my rock and my salvation;
He is my fortress; I will never be shaken…
my salvation and my honor depend on God;
He is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in Him at all times,
you people; pour out your hearts to Him,
for God is our refuge.

Psalm 62:1-2, 7-8
