Your Legacy

Psalm 71:17-18
Since my youth, O God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds. Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God, till I declare your power to the next generation.

Have you ever thought of what others will think of you when you are gone? What did you do to show God’s love? What is the first thing someone will think of you when they hear someone mention your name? Did you live your life for God or for yourself? Our legacy could impact others forever or just for a few weeks. How do you want to be remembered? Many die and there is no good to be remembered by them, but you are still here and have a chance to influence. If you want to be remembered by others do something for someone rather than just for yourself. Give a few gifts to children in the hospital or a family in need. Send a card to a friend or a family struggling, shovel someone’s driveway or take cookies to a neighbor. Help someone out, it doesn’t have to be witnessing, but just an act of kindness so they can see you care- there is so much we can do to help others, but we just need to realize the need and reach out. Keep in mind though, our works should be done with the right motives- doing things for others and God and not ourselves....

What are you going to do today to help others? What will your legacy be when you're gone?
