Hiding Your Beliefs

Has something ever tugged at your heart and told you it wasn't right? Maybe everyone else seemed to think it was okay, but something didn't "sit" right with you. Maybe it was the conventional thing to do, but just because it was the easy thing to do didn't mean it was right? Maybe everyone seemed to encourage you to refrain from sharing your faith publicly, but you couldn't allow yourself to hide that part of yourself. What you believe and who you believe in is part of what makes you who you are.

Don't ever let someone try to hide your beliefs. Don't ever let someone talk you out of sharing God with others and inspiring them with your words, actions or talents. Yes, it may draw people away. It may cause others to dislike you, but God will bring along the right opportunities and will bless you when you stand up for Him even when the world rejects you. We weren't made to take the easy path and choose what's best for us, but we should rather do hard things and do what is best for God. This life isn't about us and our successes, it is about God and what He can do through us.

God told us that this world wouldn't accept us and we wouldn't fit in here, but we aren't made to make this place our home. We have an eternal home waiting for us. When we stand up for Him it won't always be easy, but it's always worth it! Even though it is hard to live for Him now and take the criticism and persecution, God will bless us and say "well done" when we reach heaven.

It's nice knowing we are storing up treasures in an eternal home, when so many are just storing up treasures that will only last temporarily. So, go out and don't be afraid to show your love for God where you are. Don't hide Him, but make Him known. Even if it means being rejected. God will bless you and reward you for all that you have done!

If you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. Do not fear. But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.
I Peter 3:15
