When Doubt Conquers

Have you ever had a day that you felt nervous about? Something inside you felt like something would go terribly wrong? Not wanting to get up out of bed in the morning because you were afraid something would happen that would tear you apart?

Last night I felt so nervous about today and what the day would bring. I felt like there was something that would happen today that would be so awful and terrible that I was regretting the day alltogether. From the moment I woke up to the end of my classes I felt like every minute was waiting for something to go wrong, a mishap, an error, a mistake that would ruin my day totally. I just knew something was bound to go wrong. Well, God proved me wrong. Throughout the day I was praying that things would go okay, and they did. I can't think of one bad thing that happened.

Satan often puts thoughts into our minds that allows us to doubt and worry. He wants us to fear and not enjoy the life God has given us. But one thing we can do when Satan tempts us is to put a stronger faith in God and lean on Him even more than aver and prove Satan that we have a faith stronger than our fears. And we have a God stronger than Satan!

Waking up today feeling afraid and uncertain was something far from delightful, also since it was 6:30 in the morning too! But God gave me the strength to get through the day and move on. He showed me that I can do all things through His help!

Yeah, I know it's a silly example of faith and trust in God, but how often our feelings overtake us and allow us to doubt. It can be the silliest little thing, but it keeps nagging at our soul making that one ounce of doubt overtake us. Maybe you are worried for a test coming up this week? a speech to a large group of people? maybe you are feeling doubtful about how others view you? doubtful over God's love for you?

God wants us to overcome our doubts and put our hope in Him. We have so many things that are thrown at us everyday that we have to worry about, but with God we can take all our worries and hand them over to Him to handle. We are not alone. He is fighting through each struggle along side of us.

So go out there today and overcome your fears. Step out when things are dark, scary and unreliable. Take the first step with your faith in Him and I guarantee you that He will be your stronghold! Don't worry about your struggles and fears, just trust that God will hold you when you take that first step!

I Peter 5:7-
Casting your cares on Him because He cares for you!

Matthew 21:21-
I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done.

  1. Oh, Britt...you don't understand...what I mean is, this is EXACTLY how I felt last night. I was dreading today. I was doubtful over what people think of me. I didn't have enough faith in my awesome God. I was full of doubt. But then it turned out fine in the end...I really was wishing I didn't have to live today.
Thanks for the great post. :)
