Snowdrifts in the Road

Have you ever felt like the future is ruining your present? Maybe your past has overtaken your heart and you can't enjoy the here and now? We all have worries. We all have things that catch our heart and draw us into a dark world where all we feel is full of pain, hurt and sorrow. There's always something to worry about. As strange as it sounds, sometimes I just worry because I know if I don't then something will go wrong.

These past few days I feel like I have been on highs and lows of joy and sorrow. For a few hours I am feeling happy and content, then just a few minutes later worries overtake my soul and I feel like I just want to go away and cry for a few hours. Lately I feel like there have been so many worries rising up within me and I just can't stop thinking about them. Worried about classes this semester, a ride back to college, finding an internship for the summer....and so many other things. I'm sure you have your fair share of worries as well, probably longer than mine!
Snowy Sunset
The other day while I was in the car with my sister driving after it just snowed something was brought to my mind. While we were driving I noticed that the road was clear and without snow/ice in some places, while in other spots it was so slippery and snow-covered. I was thinking how our lives are like that. We have patches of good times and bad times in our lives too. God brings along snow drifts to test how good we are "driving" and allows other parts of the road to be clear to help restore us and direct us straight again; to help renew us.

Maybe you are in a snow-drift right now and life is seeming pretty hard. Maybe you are swerving all over and you can't seem to catch your breath. Maybe you can't seem to find a foothold and you need some help. We can't do things on our own; we all need someone to go to with our problems. We were made to not keep our feelings and heartaches inside. If you need someone to tell God is always anxious to listen to you! And I am here for you to always contact!

Maybe you are in a clear spot in the road right now and you are just trying to find your way and continue on the road God is leading you on. Sometimes this is a hard part of life as well since things may seem to be going okay and we feel like we don't need God as much. Keep close to Him so when the hard times come you will be ready and focused to grab hold of the wheel.

For You, O God, tested us;
You refined us like silver
You brought us into prison
and laid burdens on our backs
You let men ride over our heads;
we went through fire and water,
but you brought us to a place of abundance.
Psalm 66:10-12

So don't be worried for the future, past or even the present. God is with you and He will guide you when the going gets hard. He knows what you need and knows what you are able to endure. He will not leave you when the going gets hard or make you fend for things on your own. He has a great plan for your life. Just do all you can do and leave the rest in His hands!
