What Do Others See When They Look At You?

I was listening to a song the other day and I got an idea for a post. It has taken me a few days to sit down and write it, but here it goes!

Well, I think I've referred to this song in an earlier post not too long ago, but I thought I'd mention it again. Some songs I don't always know what the musician's meaning is for it, but I like to take it a special way and apply it to my own life. Well for Brandon Heath's song Paul Brown Petty there is a line in it that says:

His courage runs down in my blood
His kindness in my eyes
If you can see a man in me
He’s the reason why

In this song Brandon is describing his grandfather, but I like to take the lines and replace the pronouns with the word God. I want others to see His courage through my life, His kindness in my eyes, and the reason behind my actions. I want others to notice God in my life and know that I want to serve Him. Sometimes the things I do are selfish and vain- I make mistakes and I'm not always a good example, but I want to live so others could come to Christ because of me. I hope that one day when I reach heaven I will know of maybe just one person who may have changed or grew closer to God because of my life. Not that I did anything great or fantastic, but because God worked through my life and used me. I am stupid, imperfect, sinful, I fail, selfish and many other things but God can still use me for His glory. 

So today ask God to come into your life and help you influence others for His glory. You may feel small and insignificant, but it doesn't take a popular person to influence. Ask God to use your life as an example to others and show them God's love. And hopefully some day when you reach heaven you will hear someone say.....

 His courage runs down in your blood
His kindness in your eyes
I can see a difference in you
and I know God's the reason why

 Many people are looking at your life as an example and see what you do. You probably don't realize just how many people look up to you or are influenced by your actions. Don't give up because you don't see results. Just because people don't say things to you doesn't mean that they don't notice you or admire you. And remember, God is always looking at what you do. So be an example for God this week (and even beyond that), and know that others are influenced by your life- so make sure it is for God!! Have a great day and thanks for dropping by!
