Weekly Character Challenge {week 27}

So, it's time for another Weekly Character Challenge. I hope you all enjoy it!!

So, this week I have felt anger more (just in life circumstances and situations) and I have had some trouble this past week trying to control it. I get so fed up with this life down here and I wish God could just take all of us Christians up to heaven now. I get so tired of this life- the daily schedules, problems, people, issues....everything. But whatever the circumstance is down here I know that I can rest- being assured that I will live in eternity in a perfect heaven with no pain or trials- that eases my heart so much.

But sometimes the anger wells up inside of me so much and I can't control it. I get fed up with the situations of life and just dumb things that don't work out throughout the day. But feeling anger is not always a bad thing- it is how we react while we are angry. Usually anger makes us sin, but there are certain circumstances where I believe it is okay to be angry. Jesus was angry in the verses below, but He had a right to be angry at the people since they were using the Temple of God as a marketplace.

**************************
John 2:13-16
It was nearly time for the Jewish Passover celebration, so Jesus went to Jerusalem. In the Temple area he saw merchants selling cattle, sheep, and doves for sacrifices; he also saw dealers at tables exchanging foreign money. Jesus made a whip from some ropes and chased them all out of the Temple. He drove out the sheep and cattle, scattered the money changers’ coins over the floor, and turned over their tables. Then, going over to the people who sold doves, he told them, “Get these things out of here. Stop turning my Father’s house into a marketplace!”

**************************

 Now I'm not saying that since we can find a reason of why we think we have a right to be angry, we can be angry without sinning. God will judge us according to our actions. But what I'm trying to say is that if we believe God wouldn't have a problem with our anger- it might not be considered a sin for feeling that way. Recently I have gotten angry with what is going on in our world and how it is turning against God and leaving Him out of our country. It makes me so mad inside. It hurts me to think that Jesus is getting pushed out of our world and lives- truly I don't think God would have a problem with this type of anger since it is Biblical, but maybe my thoughts are wrong?

But anyways, so this week try to control your anger and deal with it in the right way. Ask for God's help to allow you to overcome the anger you feel and replace it with love. I know it will be a struggle for me.

Hope you all have a great day!!

  2. you are so honest and I love that.
    I have noticed however that though Jesus is getting pushed out of things, He is also getting brought back into many, many, many things.
    everyone is searching, and they will always be searching until they find something that can truly fulfill their hearts (jesus).
    Remember, Jesus is coming back for a perfect bride...that's a perfect church. Because the church is not the building, but the people inside the building, this means Jesus will come back when people are starting revivals...
    It's about to get to the point where half of the people are COMPLETELY against God, and half of the people are COMPLETELY for God.
    there's good in everything, and though it is SO EASY to want to go to heaven, you are here for a reason, Britt ;).
    I can see it now...you really do make an impact.
    keep doing what you do and keep encouraging people because you do great at it!

    have a wonderful week!
