Feeling Insignificant?

Have you ever tried your hardest to be kind- to be nice to others and sincere and all you get is one word thrown back at you- REJECTION?

It is so hard when we try to be kind to others and show them we truly do care. Maybe you put yourself lower than others and try to show God's love to them, but all they do is look down on you and use your kindness as a weapon against you.

I'm the type of person who doesn't usually stand up for myself. I just take all the negative words, rude comments in and when I see someone I feel comfortable with I just let it all out. I tend to hold in my thoughts, feelings and emotions. I'm a person who acts friendly and kind to pretty much anyone but often I don't often get that same kindness in return (at least not in real life).

photographySometimes I feel like I have so much love to give and want to help others so much, and when I do give it to others they just don't want to accept it or show it in return. It is so hard trying to be a light for God in this world when others just seem so cruel and they make me feel so unimportant.

But you know what, it doesn't matter what others do to us. No matter how people have treated you throughout your life, no matter how much they have hurt you or lowered your self esteem- you know what, they have in some way changed you and allowed you to become the fantastic person you are today. God has allowed those people (good and bad) in your life for a purpose. And when those people hurt us, God sees that and He will be a fair judge : )

It sure is nice to know that God has things in control. Just keep remembering to do what Jesus would do. Just as long as you are doing what God would want you to be doing you are doing what is right and don't let others get you down. Keep doing what is right and don't let them lower your potential. Don't let Satan get into your thoughts and make you feel insignificant. Keep loving and showing others love. You won't regret it! I guarantee it.

Well, I probably wrote this post more for myself, but hopefully you can take something out of it or maybe you could be encouraged by something I wrote! Have a fantastic weekend!

  1. I wrote a blog post about feeling this way, so it is definitely something I needed to hear! People can be so cruel...you can put so much time and energy into a friendship and really get nothing in return. Like you said though, all we really can do is spend our time acting like Jesus. Trying to be as Christ-like as we can. It doesn't matter what people say or DON'T say about us, as long as we are doing our best to please God. Pleasing Him is all that matters anyway. :) Have a great weekend!

  3. Britt,

This is a nice reminder! I know that people are human and make mistakes and I am sure that I let people down too, I am not perfect. It is hard though when people are mean or annoying, but you are right that God has them in your life for a reason. Like the quote about the people that are like sandpaper-it hurts, but in the end you are polished and they are all used up. I like to laugh at the people that spend so much time in trying to be popular or be "perfect" in the eyes of the world and I stand there messed up and stupid sometimes just watching them from the outside, and after I find myself and realize that I am the best me I can be, I feel good about myself (even though I am not perfect and I am a sinner, but God forgives me) and also because God is in control of my life. God made me who I am and our purpose is to glorify Him and just live our days and life trying to obey and love him and his people even though it can be hard. : ) Thanks for sharing this!

    1. Hey Lay,

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit and leave a comment. It always brightens my day when you stop by! :) Glad that you liked the quote about the sandpaper- I liked it too! haha...yeah, I know- it is stupid how people try to be popular, but all they are doing is being fake and only seeking things of this world. I often feel like I mess up so many times, I'm left feeling stupid and dumb, but God can still use that "stupidness" for good and I know He is using your life in so many ways. He is using the things you may think you are failing at to help others and make them feel a connection with you. I always appreciate when people seem real and make mistakes- and I think others do to but they don't want to show it. You are so real and genuine, that is what I like about you! : ) Thanks for your comment. I miss you! Love you so much!
