Weekly Character Challenge {20} & Thoughts

Sorry that I haven't been posting much recently. I've been pretty busy and infact I have been going through quite a bit of heartache. I won't go into much detail but I thought I would post the weekly character challenge on something I encountered this past week.

Maybe you feel like you can't let go of something that happened to you or something someone said to you or about you. Well, know that by forgiving that person and asking God to help you forgive that person in your heart will really help you feel better deep inside. We may have to forgive that person over and over again within our hearts, but if that is what it takes to let go of the matter, well then so be it! : )

This past week I have been torn down by what someone said to me and even though I was standing up for God and the truth, I felt discouraged by what someone called me and also was calling the God I serve. I realized that when we stand up for our beliefs we sometimes have to stand alone. But even though we may think we are alone- we truly never are. God is right there with us and we just have to remember that He will never leave us to fend for ourselves. He is glad when we stand up for Him and that we don't back down because we are afraid or too scared to admit who we serve and what our beliefs are. : ) One day we will be rewarded for the injustice we faced and the cruelty of others will be made right.

So, I thought I would focus on FORGIVENESS this week. This week forgive those who do horrible things to you, love them despite what they said or did to you. Show them God's love even if you don't feel it coming from your own heart. Do it for God if you do it for no one else. Know that by forgiving someone you are relieving yourself from all those terrible thoughts and feelings. The other person who did those mean things to you will still be judged for them even when we forgive them in our own hearts. Forgiveness is for ourselves and for us to let free of all those horrible feelings. God did that so that we who choose to forgive will benefit from it.

Well, hopefully something I wrote today could have encouraged you. Thanks for dropping by!

    1. Oh, I'm so glad that it could help you. I'm sorry that someone hurt you like that. It hurts when others hurt us and it sure is hard to forgive them, but it sure will be beneficial! : ) Thanks for your comment!!

  2. Forgiveness can be a huge accomplishment for anyone, especially when the pain hits the heart dearly. It can be difficult to look past those who have hurt you, but it can be done. Proud of you for standing your ground on your beliefs. Sometimes we feel like we are standing alone and we never are...Loved your post today Brit! :) Hang in there by always staying true to yourself. :)

  3. Something my pastor said this Sunday is that we are going to start being persecuted more, we will be called names and put down because of God. It sounds pretty scary and very hard, an I know it's going to be hard, but it is God's word coming to pass. Also, whenever you feel like you are alone in standing up for Christ, remember that you are part of the church. You have brothers and sisters all over the world who are standing up with you. I love thinking about that. We are not the only ones living for God, and it's not just our churches, or our families, or friends living for him with us. It is many many people all over the world, it is The Church, The Body. It is so amazing to realize that we are part of something like that. So stay strong Britt! You are not alone. You are blessed when people look down on you because of Christ.
