Speaking Wrongly About Others

Something that I constantly have trouble with is saying stuff about other people or thinking mean thoughts about others. How many times the words just slip out of my mouth and I just want to tell someone about what somebody else did to me. I'm not a real big gossiper in public but I feel like I still talk wrongly about other people with my family and I know that is wrong. But at the time I feel good saying it, but then I realized after I said it that I was wrong and I wouldn't like someone saying that about me.

000_by_wolf_minori-d3rhj56_largeSometimes it feels okay because everyone else says bad stuff about others, but that is no excuse. We all are sinners and we all are not perfect. But even though we aren't perfect that doesn't mean that it is okay to sin. Even though we  sin we have to ask forgiveness for what we have done.

This definitely is something that I have to work on and ask God for help because it comes so naturally to just blurt out my feelings of how others have hurt me and degrade others. And even when I don't necessarily say those hurtful words out loud and I just think them it is still sinning.

Matthew 7:12
Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.

1 Peter 2:1
So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech.

What a lovely heart you have. Do you know that most people don't even care about speaking badly of others? I guess it comes naturally to us all, but it's good to be aware of how God hates it....And your post is a good reminder to me.
I just love you, and your heart to serve the Lord.
