Dealing With Loss

Loss can be a very tough thing to go through. Time never heals the loss of a loved one, but it may get better as time progresses. Even though it may be hard to get through at first, and you don’t know how you can get through, if you trust God He can help you through. I understand what loss feels like because I lost my dad when I was six, he died on Thanksgiving night at my grandparents house. He wasn’t feeling well, and didn’t feel like going back to our house. The next morning we were called really early, and once we had gotten there, he already had passed away. He had a lot of health problems, a lot of kidney stones, and was in and out of the hospital all the time. I don’t really remember him much and feel like I don’t even remember anything about him, but I miss all the times I could have had with him. I know that God allowed my dad to die for a special reason. It was hard to get through at first, and it still is, sometimes now more than when I was little, but God is there for us to lean on Him, He understands our needs and wouldn’t allow anything to happen to us, without us being able to handle it. Please feel free to leave a comment of your experiences with loss or grieving in your life or someone else you know, I would enjoy hearing of your experiences.

  1. That is an extremely trying experience, even if you can't really remember your dad. I can imagine that it's terrible not knowing your father, but as you say, God does have a purpose in everything, although we can't see what it is most of the time. Pretty much the only deaths in the family we have had, are both our grandparents, one who died before I was born, and the other on my dad's side a few yrs. ago, whom I didn't know too well.
