When The World Dampens Our Dreams

How many times we are put down by others. We are told we aren't good enough. We are told that we will never make it. We will never succeed. We aren't talented enough for our career.

We let people's words, opinions and comments overtake our thoughts and actions. We let people decide our lives for us. We give others control of the thoughts we have for ourselves.
.
Why do we care more of what others think than what we do of ourselves? Why do we let what that one person tells us ruin our whole outlook of ourself? Why do we focus on one negative comment and overlook the twenty positives that people give us? AND why do we let other people's thoughts of us overtake God's view of ourselves? God's view of us is so often overtaken by what the world throws at us. The world casts us down, makes us feel inadequate, lowers our self-esteem, shrinks our dreams, and it suppresses our gifts and talents.

God tells us differently. He gives our life purpose. He qualifies us when we don't think we meet up to the expectations of this world. He looks beyond the "perfection" we attempt to meet and sees the hard work, determination and effort we put into all we do. He gives our life meaning. He gives us gifts and talents no one else can possess. He loves us more than any other. We are worthy of love in His eyes and He will never put us down or criticize us. He will never say "you aren't good enough."

Don't let this world dampen your abilities and dreams. Put your hope in God and ask for Him to use your life, talents, abilities and gifts to touch others. To use those things He has given you to be the best you can be in your field of work, school or job. We are all different, don't try to be like someone else or become disappointed when you don't meet up. God loves your originality and uniqueness. He sees your effort.

So go out there and be the best YOU that you can be. Don't worry what others think. Don't let comments darken your dreams. Keep going at what you love. God put that passion within you to use your life doing it. Don't let a few bumps in the road stop you from reaching your destination.

“being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;” Phil 1:6

“The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O LORD, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.” Psalm 138:8

  2. I needed this today. I've been having some issues, comparing myself to others. This is a great reminder that we are not supposed to be anybody else, God made us each unique and with a divine plan in mind. Thanks for this!
