I look to others and see their lives filled with success and prosperity and then I look to my own life, and I often become discouraged. My life and abilities look so pitiful when I compare them with other people's.
Lately it feels like God has been removing chipping away every part of my dignity. I feel like I've been left with nothing to even feel a little worthy of anything. I feel like I'm not capable of doing anything worthwhile or noteworthy.
Lately I feel like I can relate to the life of Gideon. Gideon felt so unworthy to be used by God. He was unnoticed. He was invisible. God still chose to use his life and in such a big way. When God gave Gideon an army to take to battle Gideon was worried how they would succeed. Just when things couldn't seem to get much worse, God removed more men from the army to leave only 300 men from an original 32,000. Gideon and his men won the battle and conquered even with the small amount of men. Through Gideon's life we can see that God can use anyone if they are willing. With the few number of men against the large opposing army we can see just how powerful God is. He can use the weakest situation for good. When we are weakest it shows just how powerful and great God is.
Maybe your life is feeling useless or you feel incompetent. Maybe you don't think you have anything worthy to give? Sometimes it takes a step of faith and courage to give God what we cannot see. We may think we don't have any abilities or anything worthy to offer, but when we give our life to God He will use our life for His glory. That's all He wants from us- our heart! God can use us no matter how unqualified we may feel. God uses those that are willing, not those that are too haughty and arrogant to need God's help. You may think you are unworthy, but God has given each of us so many unique gifts that nobody else could possess. Each of us is an original. Nobody can replace you!
God can use your life. You may think it's small, but God can use your weakest areas and impact so many! You never know what a little willingness and faith can do. God is waiting to use your wonderful gifts, give them up to Him and watch Him work. It may be hard and somewhat scary, but I'm sure you won't be disappointed when you see the big picture.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10
My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That's why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weakness, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
When I am weak, the Lord gives me strength. <3

ReplyDeleteaww, thanks Nine!
DeleteThis is just amazing. Thank you for sharing this. I can relate so much to what you were saying. My life is so complicated because I feel like Im a mix between "wow I am the worst." and "ha I'm so much better than everyone." I get caught in knowing I fail and have nothing to offer, yet still struggling with pride. if that makes any sense.
ReplyDeleteI sort of need to be knocked off my high horse at this point. and I need to know that God is my all in all. I so feel insufficient. a lot of times actually. but that verse you added at the end...love it.
you are such a beautiful soul and God is really using you. in your writing for one thing, and then in many other areas as well. I pray that you would truly remember these words you blogged and that God would lift you up.
have a great day<3
Thanks so much Faith for your comment! I have found myself in that same position before, feeling prideful and also feeling weak and unqualified. Glad you enjoyed the verse! Thanks for dropping by!
