Changes

Have you ever watched the sun set with all the bright colors lighting up the sky? Have you heard the relaxing sound of the waves crashing along the beach? The smell of flowers blooming in the spring? The faint sound of crickets as you fall to sleep in the summer? All of these are things remind me that some things remain the same. From when I was little there have been many changes that have occurred to the place where I am now. It is so nice to know that even though there are so many changes around me, some things still remain the same.

One characteristic of God that has always been one of my favorites is that He never changes. He will always remain the same. His promises. His character. His love for us. Nothing about Him will ever change. So many people have changed in my life. It's hard when people change, especially for the worse. It's hard when people seem to care and then they let us down. They leave us and reject us. It's so nice knowing that God will never reject us or leave us.

No matter how many mistakes I've made or how big of a fool I make of myself, He will always be standing beside me. Often it feels like I'm alone in the life I'm living, but God's always been there to help me through. Throughout my life I have often wondered why I'm going through things. I've questioned my circumstances. It was hard to see good in things that hurt so bad. Now, looking back I can see that even though it hurt, it was for my best. I can see how God was using it for good even though I didn't see it then. Sometimes it felt like God was making the wrong choice, but looking back I can see it was my vision being impaired by my circumstances. Now I can see that when I remained patient and made the right choices, God brought something better than what I had chosen.

Maybe you feel like you are searching. Searching for an answer. Searching for hope. Searching for a way out of a mess. Searching for love. Maybe you feel like you've been trying to hold on for so long that you have lost all your strength. You are tired of making everything appear perfect. Maybe you're tired of always trying to do what is right. You just want to feel good for once in your life. You want to do what you want and not have to do the right thing. It's hard keeping it all together. It's hard doing the right thing. It's hard not giving into the world.

It's nice to know that no matter how much change we face some things will never change. No matter how many people leave us, where we live, or what jobs we have- God will remain the same. He will go before us. We are not in it alone. He is our rock. Our stronghold. When everything around you seems like it is changing you can rest assured that He never will. He never will! He always loves you. Every single day. This world brings us down and seems to bring changes in our lives everyday, but what is right and true never will change. God's Word will always stand. Even when everyone around you seems to be following the world, keep trusting in God. Follow after what His Word says. This world steals our lives and happiness, but don't let it steal your heart or your faith. Keep focused on God and let Him be the part of your life that never changes!

Psalm 18:2

The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.
