Hebrews 10:35-36
“Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a
great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the
will of God you may receive what is promised.”
Psalm 139 13-14
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in
my mother’s womb I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”
Joshua 1:9
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not
be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you
wherever you go.”
I John 5:14-15
“And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if
we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears
us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of
him.”
I looked up the definition of confidence because I was curious to see exactly what this word means. I was surprised in what I read.
The definition of confidence -
the
feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something; firm trust. The
state of feeling certain about the truth of something.
***It was interesting
that it says that it is relying on someone or something and that it needs
trust.***

Psalm 118:8-9
It is better to trust in the Lord than put confidence in man. If we put confidence in our money, friends, government, or ourselves we will be disappointed. However, if we trust God we will never be ashamed or dissatisfied because He is perfect and He knows what is the best for you as an individual.

God has confidence in you and loves you the way you are because He made you how he wants you to feel and act. He chose circumstances for you to go through and your life is unique. He doesn’t care what others think of you. He is only interested in His relationship with you.
Think of Moses (Exodus 3:11) He said- “Who am I, that I
should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” God said, “I will
be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you:
When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this
mountain.” Like Moses was once a prince, he was so humbled and scared to go
back to his home in Egypt he said, What if they do not believe me or listen to
me and also I have never been eloquent (expressive/persuasive), neither in the
past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue
(Exodus 4:10)
God told Moses, “Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf
or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go:
I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”
Another thing to boost your confidence is that God loves you
so much that He wants you to be His daughter/son. How many people do you know
that you would be willing to have in your family? They would have to be pretty
special right? He loves everyone, but only a handful He chooses to create to be
in His family. He wants you to live with Him forever. Wow! You have to love
someone a lot to want both of those things.
God could have designed you any way He wanted- it wouldn’t
have been hard to change you in any way just by a word. Why would He create you
in a way that didn’t match up with the bigger picture for your life?
Go out and believe not in yourself, but God living through
you and your life will change and so will your confidence : )
